Three years ago, Fields was in a similar position to what Williams is now as Chicago’s potential franchise quarterback. The Bears used a 2022 first-round pick to acquire Fields in the 2021 draft, hoping to secure their future at the position. Despite initial plans not working out, the Bears prioritized Fields’ desires in the trade process. Ultimately, this decision paid off as both parties benefited from a win-win trade situation.
