Will the San Francisco 49ers Keep Brandon Aiyuk or Trade Him for a Draft Pick?

Report: 49ers considering offers for Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk in potential trade deal

The future of Brandon Aiyuk with the San Francisco 49ers is uncertain as the team considers a contract extension for the wide receiver. However, with the NFL Draft approaching and the chance to add more picks, all options are on the table. According to The Athletic, the team has been in talks with other teams about potentially trading Aiyuk, including a team within the top 10 picks of the draft.

Deebo Samuel, another 49ers wide receiver, is also reportedly available for trade as the team works on an extension for Aiyuk. While the team would prefer to keep both receivers, it’s possible that one of them may be playing for another team next season.

If Samuel is traded, the team that acquires him would have two years and $52.8 million remaining on his three-year extension, which began before the 2023 season. Samuel had a productive season last year with 60 catches for 892 yards and a touchdown.

The 49ers have several factors to consider when deciding whether to extend Aiyuk’s contract or move up in the draft to select a receiver to replace either Samuel or Aiyuk. The decision will depend on their preferences and goals for the upcoming season.
