Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman Returns to Kansas City Chiefs with New Contract in Hand, Adding Depth and Experience to Receiving Group

Chiefs bring back Mecole Hardman with new contract

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman is returning to the team after spending a few months as a free agent. Reports indicate that Hardman and the Chiefs have agreed on a new contract, bringing him back to the team that drafted him in the second round in 2019. Hardman has been with the Chiefs for the majority of his career, only briefly playing five games with the Jets last season where he caught just one pass.

Hardman is best known for catching the game-winning touchdown for the Chiefs in overtime of the Super Bowl. He will now rejoin a receiving corps that has recently added first-round pick Xavier Worthy and free agent acquisition Hollywood Brown. The return of Hardman adds depth and experience to the Chiefs’ receiving group, providing another target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes to utilize in their high-powered offense. With Hardman back in the mix, the Chiefs will look to build upon their recent success and make another run at the Super Bowl title.
