Wichita Falls: A Healthy Community with Free Pet Adoptions and Microchipping

Health Fair to be Hosted by Public Health District

Wichita Falls Animal Services is collaborating with the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District to promote community health and well-being during National Public Health Week. On April 4 from 3 to 6 p.m., the public is invited to attend a health fair at the Health District’s main campus located at 1700 Third Street. This event marks the first time the district has hosted an event since 2019.

The theme for this year’s fair is “Super Heroes, Super Health,” designed to cater to both children and adults. More than 40 community partners will be present at the event to support the WFWCPHD motto: “A healthy community is a strong community.” The fair will feature over 30 kid-friendly booths with additional activities being added as the event approaches. Attendees of all ages can participate in games, activities, get their blood pressure checked, engage in a scavenger hunt, donate blood, try a car accident simulator, potentially win door prizes, and much more.

During this week, Wichita Falls Animal Services will be offering free pet adoptions and free microchipping at their location on 1207 Hatton Road. This collaborative effort aims to promote community health and well-being for both humans and pets. Copyright 2024 KAUZ. All rights reserved.
