White Sox Slugger Yoán Moncada Ruled Out with Adductor Strain Amid Win Against Cleveland Guardians

Yoán Moncada of the White Sox sidelined for 3-6 months due to adductor strain

The Chicago White Sox third baseman, Yoán Moncada, is currently out of action after sustaining a left adductor strain during a game against the Cleveland Guardians. The injury happened in the second inning of their 7-5 victory over the Guardians when he fell while trying to reach first base on a ground ball to third. Moncada collapsed in pain and was subsequently ruled out due to the strain.

Before the injury, Moncada had been playing through minor soreness in his hip and groin area. Despite this, he still managed to hit a single and steal a base in the game before getting injured. This season has been Moncada’s eighth with the White Sox, and he has maintained a batting average of .270 with 10 hits.

The White Sox managed to secure the win against the Guardians despite Moncada’s absence. Dominic Fletcher put forth an impressive performance, helping lead the team to victory. The White Sox had previously lost four games in a row before this victory, with their only previous win coming against the Atlanta Braves earlier in the season. The team will continue their series against the Guardians before heading home to face the Cincinnati Reds in a three-game series starting Friday.
