Whirlpool Foundation and Whirlpool Corporation Collaborate to Inspire Young Girls in Technology with Girls Rock IT Event

The Whirlpool Foundation Continues its Commitment to Supporting the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT)

Whirlpool Foundation is partnering with Whirlpool Corporation to support the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) STEM event – Girls Rock IT. This initiative is aimed at inspiring young girls in grades 2-8 to explore the worlds of coding and app development. Elementary students used Scratch to learn coding, while middle schoolers created their own apps using MIT App Inventor. Parents and guardians were also encouraged to participate, attending a session on Internet Safety and Careers in Technology.
