WhatsApp introduces emoji of Mercedes F1 race car

Meta’s WhatsApp messaging platform has recently introduced a new emoji to its over two billion users. The emoji is modeled after the Mercedes-Benz F1 team’s race car, marking a collaboration between WhatsApp and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. The collaboration includes features such as the race car emoji in chats and the WhatsApp logo on the team’s steering wheels for brand exposure during races.

This activation was revealed in November and included an event at the Empire State Building where Team Principal Toto Wolff and driver Lewis Hamilton showcased the new emoji. Meta also announced a significant increase in daily users and messages sent in the U.S. during this event, which featured a light show on the skyscraper’s façade to highlight the emoji. Additionally, Hamilton will do a demonstration run down Fifth Avenue with an older-generation Mercedes F1 car to further promote the collaboration between WhatsApp and the F1 team.

This collaboration between technology and sports demonstrates innovation and partnership between Meta, WhatsApp, and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, as they continue to push boundaries in their respective fields.
