West Virginia Set to Take on Competition in 2024 UTR Sports NIT Championship

In 2024, the West Virginia University tennis team will be competing in the UTR Sports NIT Championship from May 6-8 in Bradenton, Florida. The NIT Championship in women’s tennis is in its second year, with TCU emerging victorious in the inaugural tournament in 2023. West Virginia had a successful regular season, securing a record-breaking 14 wins and achieving their first winning season since 2010. Additionally, the team recorded the highest number of Big 12 wins in a single season since joining the conference in 2013.

Head coach Miha Lisac expressed enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to compete in the NIT Championship, viewing it as a pivotal moment for the program to showcase their skills on a national level. The competition will feature teams such as Appalachian State, Colorado, Liberty, Pacific, Saint Mary’s, Tulsa, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
