West Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park was abuzz on Thursday evening as eager spectators flocked to the gates for a front-row view of the annual Fourth on the Field celebration. Val Gomez, who was attending for the first time instead of hosting a family fireworks show, emphasized the importance of celebrating independence and family on this special day. The event recognized and thanked service members for their contributions. Across town at Drake’s at the Barn, another watch party was held for those looking to catch a glimpse of the spectacular display from a different vantage point.
