West Branch Wins EBC Game Over Minerva with Powerful Performance from Alazaus and Shields

West Branch’s Beau Alazaus had a standout performance, driving in four runs on two hits in the Warriors’ 10-0 victory over Minerva at Carl Michael Field. He hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the sixth. Alongside Alazaus, Hunter Shields contributed with two hits and three runs, while senior Jaxon Robb made a strong return to the lineup, going 2-for-2 with two runs.

Robb, playing his first game since his freshman season, received medical clearance earlier in the day. The Warriors scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Biskup and Boston Mulinix both had two stolen bases in the game.

On the Minerva side, sophomore Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 but took the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, on four hits in three-plus innings. Anthony Perry, the winning pitcher, threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also had a two-run single in the sixth inning. West Branch now holds a 5-0 record overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC.

West Branch will face Marlington next on Tuesday. The final score of the game was 10-0 in favor of West Branch.
