Boston, MA-based Wentworth Institute of Technology is currently seeking a highly driven individual to join its men’s basketball staff as the primary assistant coach. This is a part-time position that requires a significant time commitment, and the candidate must be based in Boston or the surrounding area, or willing to relocate.
As an assistant coach, the successful candidate will assist the head coach in all aspects of the program. This includes evaluating and recruiting potential student-athletes, managing practice and game video technology, organizing player development sessions, assisting with practice planning, scouting opponents, managing team social media, monitoring academics, overseeing student managers, and assisting with game administration.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Coaching and recruiting experience is preferred but not required. CPR certification is also preferred but not mandatory.
The compensation for this role is a stipend of $12,000 with the opportunity to earn additional income through camps, training, and other side jobs. However, it’s important to note that this position does not come with benefits such as housing meal plans or tuition assistance.
