The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has gifted the Greensboro Science Center with a new addition to its diverse wildlife population. Madeline, a red panda, has now joined the ranks of Usa, Tai, and their twins Zuko and Azula at GSC.
GSC took to social media to announce Madeline’s arrival and invited visitors to come witness the sweetness and beauty of this newcomer. Red pandas are known for their unique appearance and playful personalities, making them a fan favorite among animal lovers. With Madeline’s arrival, visitors will have the chance to learn more about these fascinating creatures.
GSC has had much success in breeding red pandas, with the birth of twins Zuko and Azula being a cause for celebration in 2019. Jessica Hoffman, Vice-President of Animal Care and Welfare at GSC, expressed her excitement at welcoming Madeline to the center. “We are thrilled to have another red panda join our family,” she said. “Having twins was such a special experience for us, but having a single cub is just as wonderful.”
With Madeline’s addition, the red panda population at GSC continues to grow, providing visitors with an up-close encounter with these unique animals. Visitors can witness their playful antics and marvel at their distinctive appearance while learning about their habitat and behaviors. The Greensboro Science Center is proud to continue its mission of promoting conservation efforts through education and entertainment.
