Weatherly School Board Makes Personnel and Business Decisions at Special Meeting

Assistant Business Manager at Weatherly named – Times News Online

During a special meeting on April 18, the Weatherly Area School Board made several personnel and business decisions. The board promoted Kristen Ritter from a part-time cafeteria aide to a full-time assistant business manager. Ritter, who had previously worked in banking for 12 years and returned to work last August after taking time off to raise her children, will now be assisting the outgoing business manager, Leann Sites.

In addition to Ritter’s promotion, the board also addressed other personnel matters during the meeting. Lori Giannakouros was hired as a substitute cafeteria aide pending all clearances, Courtney Marscicano will join as a part-time paraprofessional, and Dianne Paisley was added as a substitute teacher. Interviews for a new business manager are currently ongoing.

The board also made some notable announcements during the meeting. Jeanine Snyder, the manager of food services for the Nutrition Group at Weatherly Area, announced that she will be leaving her position on May 1 for a new job opportunity. Snyder, who has been with the district for seven years and has been a leader in food services operations, expressed that it was not an easy decision to make but that she is looking forward to her new adventure. The Nutrition Group will begin searching for Snyder’s replacement immediately.

The Property committee discussed necessary maintenance work on school buildings and grounds during their special meeting on April 18th. They discussed drainage options and shared estimates for renovation of old tennis courts. The softball field will receive additional dirt as well. The Athletics committee chairman provided feedback from winter coaches’ exit interviews and expressed gratitude for their hard work and dedication to students’ sports programs at Weatherly High School.

Future WASB meetings are scheduled for Wednesdays, May 1st and 8th at 6 p.m., both in the Middle School LGI room.

The WASB is committed to ensuring that all students have access to quality education and resources that help them succeed academically and personally in their future careers or pursuits beyond high school graduation.

During this meeting, Ritter’s promotion was seen as an opportunity to bring fresh perspectives to the role of assistant business manager while also supporting outgoing business manager Leann Sites’ transition into retirement.

Additionally, Jeanine Snyder’s departure from her position marks an end of an era but also opens up opportunities for new leadership within the district’s food service operations team.

Overall, this special meeting highlighted how important personnel changes can impact not only individual employees but also entire organizations like schools districts or businesses alike.
