With approximately 700 participants in the youth athletics programs, Dothan Leisure Services is seeking volunteer coaches for the upcoming football, soccer, and cheerleading seasons. Volunteers are essential to keeping the programs running smoothly and providing a high-quality experience for children participating in sports.
Jyssica Curenton, DLS Athletics Manager, emphasizes the importance of volunteers in ensuring that children have the opportunity to participate in sports in a supportive and engaging environment. To become a sports coach, volunteers must be over 18 years old, complete a coaching safety course, and consent to a background check.
Those interested in volunteering can visit the Dothan Leisure Services website starting on July 8 and click on the ‘Volunteering’ tab to fill out a volunteer registration form. By volunteering, individuals can make a positive impact on the youth athletics programs and help keep them running smoothly.
