Athletes in the Spotlight: Joe Burrow, Serena Williams Headline Vogue World 2024 in Paris

Paris Fashion Week 2024 concluded with Vogue World: Paris featuring a diverse group of athletes from the world of sports at the Place Vendôme. The event was described by Anna Wintour, global editorial director of Vogue, as an opening ceremony celebrating 100 years of fashion and sport, as well as the city of Paris.

Among the prominent athletes in attendance were Serena Williams, Victor Wembanyama, and Joe Burrow. Williams has won an impressive 23 Grand Slam women’s singles titles, while Wembanyama is a rising star in the NBA after being drafted first overall in 2023 and receiving Rookie of the Year honors in his first professional season. Burrow is a standout wide receiver who was recently traded to the Houston Texans and has over 800 career receptions in the NFL.

Other notable athletes included Chloe Kim, who won back-to-back gold medals in snowboard halfpipe at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics, becoming the first woman to achieve this feat; Marie-José Pérec, a triple gold medalist at the 1992 and 1996 Summer Olympics; Maria Sharapova, who retired from professional tennis in 2020 after a successful career; and Casper Ruud, who triumphed in the 2024 Barcelona Open in April.
