Vitinha on the Brink of Leaving Marseille for Genoa: The Inside Scoop

Vitinha from Marseille expected to finalize permanent transfer to Genoa

Vitinha, a 24-year-old player for Marseille, is reportedly on the verge of completing a permanent move to Italian Serie A club Genoa. The young player arrived at Marseille in January 2023 for a club-record fee from SC Braga but struggled to meet expectations. With the arrivals of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and later Faris Moumbagna, he found himself falling down the pecking order.

During his four-month loan spell in Italy with Genoa, Vitinha scored two goals in Serie A, impressing the club enough to want to keep him for permanent. Initially expected to return to Marseille on a season-long loan deal, it is now understood that a permanent transfer is close to being finalized. Reports suggest that Genoa is close to agreeing on a €15m fee for the player, with OM likely to include a buy-back clause in the deal.
