Vikings Secure Offensive Tackle Walter Rouse: Four Out of Seven Draft Picks Signed, Three Remain Unsigned

The Vikings add Walter Rouse, sixth-round offensive tackle, to their roster

The Vikings recently added another player to their roster from their 2024 draft picks. This time, it was offensive tackle Walter Rouse who put pen to paper on his contract. With Rouse now signed, the Vikings have secured four out of their seven selections from the draft.

Rouse was selected by the Vikings as the 177th overall pick after an impressive season starting in all 13 games for Oklahoma. Prior to his time at OU, Rouse had a successful run at Stanford where he started 39 of 40 games from 2019-2022. Throughout his career, Rouse has primarily played at left tackle, logging over 3,400 snaps in that position.

Despite these signings, the Vikings still have three draft picks who remain unsigned. First-round quarterback J.J. McCarthy, first-round linebacker Dallas Turner, and fourth-round defensive back Khyree Jackson have yet to finalize their contracts with the team. As training camp approaches, fans will be eagerly waiting to see these players join the roster and make their mark on the team.
