Professor Park Inkyu from KAIST emphasized the importance of these areas for future development, highlighting the growing demand for miniaturized, low-power sensors with improved performance due to the increasing use of IoT and advanced sensors in various sectors.

He suggested establishing a National Research Laboratory focusing on semiconductors to drive research, development, and training efforts. Building a strong workforce in the semiconductor industry will be crucial for Vietnam’s future growth and competitiveness.
In a separate seminar, Vietnamese experts discussed the demand for skilled engineers in the semiconductor industry and the need to enhance training programs to meet this demand. Predictions suggest that Vietnam will need thousands of engineers by 2030 to support the design, production, and packaging of semiconductor chips. Developing undergraduate and graduate training programs, establishing laboratories, and fostering international cooperation will be key to building a strong workforce in the semiconductor industry.
