Vienna’s New Neighborhood: Sustainable Developments and Poker Stars

St. Marx’s Newest Neighborhood Boasts Living Space and Student Dormitory

Vienna’s third district is undergoing a major transformation with the construction of Neu-Marx, a new district built on the site of a former slaughterhouse. The district will feature a multi-purpose hall called Arena, which will host cultural and sporting events. Nearby, Raiffeisen Property Holding International is developing several new buildings, including the completed Anton residential building with 73 apartments and a student dormitory with 418 rooms operated by Milestone.

The new buildings in Neu-Marx were designed by architecture office Burtscher During ZT with an emphasis on green spaces and open areas between buildings. The buildings are equipped with environmentally friendly features such as photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, and water saving measures. RPHI CEO Karl-Maria Pfeffer highlights the goal of operating the buildings efficiently and sustainably to reduce environmental impact.

The student dormitory offers single and double rooms as well as serviced apartments, all fully furnished. Residents have access to fitness, music, and multi-purpose rooms, as well as a terrace. The European Handball House, set to be completed in the fall alongside the European Handball Championships in Vienna, will house the European handball associations and employees from 25 countries. The new district also includes a hotel, shops, and offices.

Apart from the development in Neu-Marx, there are also various options for entertainment and shopping available online.
