Venu Sports Set to Disrupt the Streaming Landscape with Live Sports Collection

Renaming the Disney-Fox-Warners Sports Streaming Service to Venu Sports

The highly anticipated sports-focused streaming service from Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Fox has finally been named and branded. The service will be called Venu Sports (pronounced “venue”), and the companies are confident that it will launch this fall, despite still needing regulatory approval and a final agreement between the partners.

“We are excited to officially introduce Venu Sports, a brand that captures the spirit of an all-new streaming home where sports fans outside of the traditional pay TV ecosystem can experience an incredible collection of live sports, all in one place,” said Pete Distad, CEO of the platform. “As preparations for the platform continue to accelerate, we are singularly focused on delivering a best-in-class product for our target audience, built from the ground up using the latest technologies to engage and entertain discerning sports fans wanting one-stop access to live games.”

The company launched a website at Venu.com, which teases: “Welcome to the future home of sports streaming. Venu will bring the most sought-after live sports from the top leagues and teams together in one place. All in a new app built from the ground up for sports fans.” However, it’s important to note that this site is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Fox Corporation.

The streaming service was first announced in February and has since become a highly anticipated addition to the growing list of streaming options available to consumers. While there is still work to be done before it launches, such as securing regulatory approval and finalizing an agreement between the partners, Fox is currently running point on things with their label at their website stating that launch is conditional on receiving regulatory approval and is expected for Fall 2024.
