UVA Health, located in Charlottesville, Va., recently announced plans to acquire Piedmont Family Practice based in Warrenton, Va. This acquisition is part of UVA Health’s expansion strategy and is expected to be finalized this summer, as stated in a news release issued on May 7th.
Piedmont Family Practice has 90 employees, including seven physicians, 17 advanced practice providers, a registered dietitian, and a certified diabetic educator. All existing employees at Piedmont Family Practice will continue working under the new ownership.
The practice offers three main clinical services: general health services, diabetes counseling, in-office surgery, women’s health, and pediatric care. Piedmont Urgent Care specializes in COVID-19 testing, lab testing, and urgent-care services.
