Utah Secures Commitments from Two Highly Regarded Linebackers in the 2025 Class

On Sunday, Utah had a successful day on the recruiting front, securing commitments from two linebackers in the class of 2025. The Utes first received a commitment from three-star Hawaii linebacker Max Fonoimoana, followed by a pledge from four-star Las Vegas linebacker Christian Thatcher.

The atmosphere was electric as the teams geared up for an exciting matchup at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on October 15, 2022. Utah players ran out onto the field to prepare for their game against USC.

Thatcher, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound linebacker, had offers from top programs such as USC, Washington, Texas A&M, and Oregon before ultimately choosing Utah. He is highly regarded, ranking as the sixth-best linebacker in the 2025 class by ESPN.

In his junior season at Arbor View High School, Thatcher recorded impressive stats with 95 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception in just seven games. His performance caught the attention of recruiting services like Rivals and 247Sports, who also ranked him among the top linebackers in his class.

With Thatcher’s commitment, Utah now has eight pledges in the class of 2025
