Utah Paperbox Leads the Way in Sustainable Transportation with New Electric Semi-Truck Investment

First Electric Semi Truck Debuts in Utah by Local Business

Utah Paperbox, a renowned paper products manufacturer, is making waves in the industry by investing in an electric semi-truck. This move marks a shift towards clean energy initiatives and reducing carbon footprint. The company has ordered the new E-Semi from Volvo, which will replace its current 25-year-old semi, taking 800 gallons of diesel off the roads every month.

Steve Keyser, CEO of Utah Paperbox, emphasized the importance of using clean energy alternatives and doing his part for clean air. He stated that if air quality worsens, he would have to deal with it, motivating him to be part of the solution to the problem. Despite being a half million dollar investment, Keyser anticipates saving $2,500 a month in fuel costs and paying for itself over a ten-year period.

Keyser acknowledged that this venture is a learning process as there is still limited knowledge available on electric semis in the industry. However, he is confident in the semi’s capabilities and expects it to pull a full load over Parley’s Summit at 70mph. Utah Paperbox caters to clients across the U.S., producing boxes and paper products for renowned companies such as Starbucks, Fat Boy Ice Cream, Casper Goggle and more.

The new electric semi boasts an impressive 4000 ft-lbs of torque which is 15 times that of a Tesla 3. The charging capacity of the semi is provided by roof-mounted solar panels at Utah Paperbox demonstrating their commitment to utilizing renewable energy sources.

In conclusion, Utah Paperbox’s move towards clean energy initiatives sets an example for other businesses in the industry to follow suit. With more investment into electric transportation options like this one from Utah Paperbox we can expect more businesses to join hands with them and work together towards reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainability on our roads.
