Shamar Arnoux, highly rated cornerback, chooses USC

On Wednesday, the Peach State pipeline to Hollywood continued to grow stronger with another top recruit. Cornerback Shamar Arnoux announced his commitment to the Trojans at the Rivals Five-Star event in Jacksonville. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, Arnoux joins his teammate Julian Lewis, who is ranked No. 1 overall in the Rivals250 rankings.

In an interview with Rivals, Arnoux expressed his excitement about joining USC, citing the genuine relationships he built with the coaching staff as a key factor in his decision. He mentioned Doug Belk, who had offered him a scholarship during his sophomore year at Houston, as a valuable mentor who played an important role in his recruitment process.

Arnoux praised USC’s defensive system, likening it to an NFL defense and expressing his desire to transition to the NFL after three years of playing at USC. He also highlighted the positive impact of coaches Belk and Taylor Mays in his recruitment process. He emphasized the value of having different voices in the defensive back room and noted Mays’ presence as a valuable asset to his development as a player. Overall, Arnoux’s decision to commit to USC was influenced by the coaching staff, the defensive system, and the opportunity to learn and grow under experienced mentors like Belk and Mays.

The addition of Arnoux further strengthens USC’s recruiting class for 2025. With Lewis leading the way, this class is shaping up to be one of USC’s best yet.
