USC’s Darla Moore School of Business: Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence in International Business Education

USC provost delves into the reasons behind the high rankings of the international business program

The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is renowned for its excellence in international business and women’s college basketball. According to USC provost Donna Arnett, the school has a long history of having the number one international business program, which adds great significance to the school.

While USC’s undergraduate acceptance rate is around 64 percent, the international business programs are much more selective. This is due to the experiential learning element and the international aspect. The undergraduate international business program has been ranked first in the nation for 25 years, while the international MBA has held the top spot for 11 years.

One of the key strengths of the international business program at USC is study abroad opportunities. The university has established relationships with more than 50 highly ranked business schools around the world. Despite being one of the university’s most challenging majors, graduates often find that their hard work pays off with job placement rates close to 98 percent.

The Darla Moore School of Business at USC is also nationally recognized for its excellence in supply chain management and accounting. Arnett highlighted the importance of supply chain management during the pandemic and its impact on the economy as a whole.

To celebrate this milestone, USC plans to host a two-day event next week marking 50 years of excellence in international business education at the University of South Carolina. This event will showcase how far USC’s international business program has come over the past half century and what lies ahead for future generations of students who choose to pursue this field of study.
