USA Readies for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with Monnak Patel Leading the Charge

Monank Patel chosen as captain for USA T20 World Cup squad 2024 with former NZ player Corey Anderson making the team

In preparation for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, co-host USA has announced their 15-member squad. They will be joining forces with the Caribbean to host this prestigious event, and their team will be part of Group A alongside India, Pakistan, Ireland, and Canada.

Leading the charge as captain of the squad is Monnak Patel, while Aaron Jones has been named vice-captain. Other key players on the team include Andries Gous, Corey Anderson, Ali Khan, Harmeet Singh, Jessy Singh, Milind Kumar, Nisarg Patel, Nitish Kumar, Noshtush Kenjige, Saurabh Nethralvakar, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Steven Taylor, and Shayan Jhangir.

The reserves for the squad are Gajanand Singh, Juanoy Drysdale, and Yasir Mohammad. Teams have until 25 May to make any changes to their squad before approval from the ICC’s Event Technical Committee is required for any alterations. This gives them a little over a week to finalize their rosters before the tournament commences.

As co-hosts of this exciting event alongside the Caribbean region , USA will undoubtedly be looking forward to making a mark on the international cricket stage. The first match for Team USA is scheduled against Canada on June 2nd at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas . It will be intriguing to see how they perform in this tournament and whether they can rise above expectations.
