Upstate High School Girls Athlete of the Week: Isabella Bright, Ayiana Chalmers, Cassidy Lee, Natalie Regan, Jessica Mikesell and Halle Tomkins Shine in This Week’s Standout Performances

The finalists for Upstate high school girls athlete of the week from April 15-21 have been announced and are listed in alphabetical order. Polls will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and multiple votes are allowed. Coaches can nominate top performers each week by email or direct message on X, formerly Twitter, to @toddshanesySHJ.

This week’s fan favorite was Isabella Bright of Riverside, who scored seven goals and had two assists in their lacrosse victory over Eastside in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals. Ayiana Chalmers of Hillcrest excelled in the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic Elite track and field meet in Seneca, winning the long jump, triple jump, and placing second in the high jump.

Cassidy Lee of Woodmont hit two home runs and had six RBIs in a softball game against T.L. Hanna. Natalie Regan of Riverside hit two home runs in a game and had an impressive three-game streak where she was 7-for-8 with multiple extra-base hits and RBIs. Jessica Mikesell of Christ Church had seven goals and four assists in a lacrosse win over Wade Hampton in the Class AAAA Upper State semifinals. Morgan Siglin of Wade Hampton scored 10 goals and had three assists in a close 17-15 loss to Greenville in the lacrosse state playoffs.
