In our third episode, we had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Camille Clarke-Smith, the program director of quality improvement/Medicare/SNP STARs at UPMC Health Plan. Dr. Clarke-Smith oversees the UPMC for Life Medicare Faith and Wellness Program, which focuses on promoting holistic health within faith-based organizations and among Medicare-enrolled members. This program emphasizes the importance of physical, mental, and personal wellness by addressing social determinants of health and cultural barriers.

Dr. Clarke-Smith’s background as a health activist and wellness advocate has guided her in implementing innovative approaches to community health. By engaging with faith-based organizations and incorporating spiritual and community elements into her program, she is able to support individuals in achieving overall well-being.
