Upheaval in the NCAA Division III Presidents’ Athletic Conference: New Divisions and Tournaments to Unfold in Basketball, Volleyball and More

PAC to introduce new divisional format in three sports starting next year

Starting from the 2025-26 season, the NCAA Division III Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) will undergo a major restructuring. The conference will divide into two divisions for men’s and women’s basketball, as well as women’s volleyball. A total of 12 schools will be part of this new structure, with the return of Hiram to the fold.

The two divisions, North and South, will each consist of six teams and will compete in divisional crossover games across all three sports. The PAC North Division will include Allegheny, Geneva, Grove City, Hiram, Thiel, and Westminster. On the other hand, the PAC South Division will feature Bethany, Chatham, Franciscan, Saint Vincent, Washington & Jefferson, and Waynesburg.

Each sport will play 16 conference games in this new format. Teams will face their five divisional opponents twice in a home-and-home series. Despite the divisional split, the PAC tournaments will remain for all three sports. The overall conference champion will still receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournaments.
