Unveiling Thinner Bezels: A First Look at the iPhone 16 Pro’s Design and Features

iPhone 16 Pro Rumored to have the Thinnest Smartphone Bezel in the World

The iPhone 16 Pro is set to feature a design similar to the iPhone 15 Pro with a few small changes. Both the Pro and Pro Max screen sizes will increase slightly, and there may be a significant reduction in the black border around the screen. IceUniverse claims that the iPhone 16 Pro could feature the thinnest smartphone bezels in the world.

The Dynamic Island display cutout design is not expected to change this year and will remain the same. There are rumors that Face ID will be integrated under the display, causing the cutout to shrink to a circular hole with the high-end iPhone 17 in 2025.

Apple is using Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology for the upcoming displays, which is causing some manufacturing challenges during production. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are expected to have thinner bezels than their predecessors, with Apple aiming for a smaller border of just 2mm. This improvement offsets some of the increase in device size due to larger screens, making the phones slightly larger while still maintaining a sleek look.

In addition to display enhancements, new features may include an updated A18 processor, a physical force-sensitive ‘Capture Button’ for taking photos and videos, and 5x zoom for non-Max model for first time on iPhone lineup. Apple is expected to reveal more information about these new features at an upcoming media event in September when they unveil their latest lineup of iPhones.
