A suspicious package was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the 8600 block of Congdonhill Drive in Lower Macungie Township, which led to the evacuation of a business and the closure of a stretch of Route 100. The location of the package was at Ryder Logistics, which has been evacuated as a precaution.

Local roads, including Route 100 at Spring Creek Road, were shut down to prevent access to the area. Captain John Christopher from the Allentown Fire Department reported that the Allentown Bomb Squad was called to Congdon Hill Drive to assist with the investigation by state police. The bomb squad arrived just before 2 p.m. on Monday.

The bomb squad is currently on scene investigating the suspicious package and working closely with state police to determine its origin and potential danger. It is not yet clear what caused the report of a suspicious package or what led to the evacuation of Ryder Logistics or the closure of Route 100. However, authorities are taking all necessary precautions to ensure public safety and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
