Preview: Early Look at World Cup 24/25: Cardrona Competitions Poised to Kick Off Olympic Qualification Efforts

The 2024/25 FIS Freeski and Snowboard Park & Pipe calendar has been released, with the season kicking off early at Cardrona Alpine Resort from September 1-7. While some details are still being finalized and one venue needs to be confirmed, excitement is building for this season opener.

Cardrona has a rich history of hosting World Cup events, with snowboard halfpipe competitions dating back to 2007 and freeski action starting in 2012. Many legendary snowsports athletes have graced the Cardrona podium over the years, including Shaun White, Kelly Clark, Jamie Anderson, Torin Yater-Wallace, and Cassie Sharpe.

The upcoming Cardrona World Cups will feature snowboard slopestyle competitions from September 1-3, followed by freeski halfpipe events on September 6-7. These competitions will also mark the beginning of the qualification period for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, adding an extra layer of excitement for both athletes and fans. Following the World Cups will be a pair of Australia-New Zealand Cup competitions featuring snowboard halfpipe and freeski slopestyle contests.

As the elite of the Park & Pipe world battle for coveted spots at the Olympic Games, each competition from now until January 2026 will take on added significance. It’s shaping up to be an action-packed and thrilling season for freeskiers and snowboarders around the globe.
