Virat Kohli has had an illustrious career in T20 cricket, playing 125 matches and scoring 4188 runs with an impressive average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04. He holds the title of being the second-highest scorer in the T20I format, behind only Rohit Sharma.

Kohli made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2010 and quickly became the fastest player to reach 3500 runs in T20Is, achieving this milestone in just 96 innings. As a former captain across formats for Team India, he also dominated the run scorers’ charts in T20 World Cups with 1292 runs in 35 matches. He is the only player to have been the highest run scorer in two different T20 World Cup editions.

Rohit Sharma, known as the Hitman, has also had an outstanding career in T20 cricket, accumulating more runs than Kohli with 4231 runs in 159 matches. He captained the Indian T20 team for six years, leading them to victory on multiple occasions. In fact, he led from the front and finished as the highest run-scorer for his team with 257 runs during his stint as captain in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final of 204.

Sharma achieved another remarkable feat when he scored five T20I hundreds, sharing this title with Australia’s Glenn Maxwell. On top of that, he is also one of very few players who have played over a hundred international matches without ever getting dismissed by bowling or fielding errors, further emphasizing his exceptional skill and reliability on the field.
