A national semiconductor laboratory is needed in Vietnam

Professor Lee Young Hee from Korea has emphasized the need for a National laboratory in Vietnam to develop high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry. During his business trip to Hanoi, he discussed the challenges facing the industry and the need for new technologies to replace silicon.

Professor Lee Young Hee highlighted the importance of investing in training and education in the semiconductor field. He proposed the establishment of a National laboratory focused on semiconductor research and development, as well as training high-quality personnel for the industry.

He also stressed the need for infrastructure improvement and modern equipment in universities to support the development of the semiconductor industry. Professor Lee Young Hee shared his experience of working with Vietnamese students and admired their dedicated and innovative spirit, highlighting it as a valuable asset for Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.

The Ministry of Science and Technology in Vietnam has implemented programs and projects to develop human resources for the semiconductor industry, in line with the country’s science and technology development strategy until 2030. With predictions that there will be a need for semiconductor professionals in Vietnam by 2030, Professor Lee Young Hee called for government investment in infrastructure and equipment to support the growth of the industry.
