Unlocking the Secrets to Community Health: Burke County’s Collaboration with PRC and Dogwood Health Trust on Community Health Assessment Survey

Additional Participation Required for Burke Community Health Survey

Burke County Public Health is partnering with national research firm PRC to encourage more residents to participate in the Community Health Assessment (CHA) survey. The survey aims to collect confidential information about residents’ health, behaviors, and experiences. Selected households will receive a call from “WNC Health” to take part in the 20-minute survey.

Burke County is one of 18 counties in western North Carolina participating in this health assessment initiative. The CHA addresses various health-related factors, including demographics, socioeconomics, health status, disparities, behaviors, clinical care, physical environment, and quality of life. The data collected will help Public Health prioritize and address community health challenges over the next three years.

The funding for this data collection effort comes from a grant provided by Dogwood Health Trust in partnership with WNC Healthy Impact. The information gathered during the survey will contribute to the 2025 Burke County Community Health Assessment, guiding future health initiatives in the region. Residents are encouraged to participate in the survey to help shape public health strategies and improve overall community well-being.

In summary, Burke County Public Health and PRC are working together to gather crucial information through the CHA survey. This data collection effort is funded by Dogwood Health Trust and WNC Healthy Impact and will guide future health initiatives in Burke County for years to come.
