Downtown Fresno Hosts Black Maternal Health Fair and Jubilee

In Fresno, California, the Black Wellness and Prosperity Center is hosting a health fair and jubilee to raise awareness about the disparities black women face in pregnancy-related causes. Statistics show that black women are three times more likely to die from these causes compared to white women, highlighting the effects of systemic racism and bias in healthcare.

During Black Maternal Health Week, which runs through April 17, the community in Fresno is committed to advocating for change and promoting equitable access to quality healthcare for all women, regardless of race. The event features a celebratory walk, free food, dancing, yoga, giveaways, and valuable health resources for attendees to access.
