The US Expresses Opposition to World Court’s Inquiry Into Israel’s Gaza Military Actions

The US government has made it clear that it does not support the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into Israel’s conduct in Gaza. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, the US does not believe the ICC has jurisdiction in this matter. Israeli officials have expressed concern that the Hague-based tribunal could issue arrest warrants as a result of the investigation.

The US government’s stance on the ICC investigation has been consistent in its opposition. It is not in support of the international court looking into Israel’s offensive in Gaza. This position was reiterated during a briefing where it was made clear that the US does not believe the ICC has authority to pursue this investigation.

Reports indicate that Israeli officials are worried about potential arrest warrants being issued by the ICC in relation to the Gaza offensive. The concerns stem from the possibility that the Hague-based tribunal may take action against individuals involved in the conflict. Despite these fears, the US maintains its position against the ICC investigation and its jurisdiction in this matter.
