As the spring sports season comes to a close, it’s time to reflect on some of the standout girls athletes from the Louisville area in 2024. Eligible players hailed from Bullitt, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer counties.

Beginning on June 26, readers will have the opportunity to vote for the Player of the Year using an online poll. Among the talented athletes that emerged this season are:

Reagan Gilmore from Assumption showcased her prowess in track and field by setting a new state record as the 3,200-meter state champion. She was also part of Assumption’s record-breaking 1,600-meter relay state championship team. She will be continuing her career at Florida.

Walden’s Natalie Svidal, a sophomore, excelled in track and field, dominating in the long jump, triple jump, and 100-meter hurdles at the Class A Track and Field State Championships. She had a personal-best time of 14.69 seconds in the 100 hurdles and finished first in the triple jump in all 11 meets she competed in this season.

Hallie Roberts from Eastern had an impressive season in softball with a 23-7 record, two saves, a 1.56 ERA
