Doctor Doan Thu Hong from the Vietnam Institute of Applied Medicine noted that while the life expectancy of people in Vietnam is relatively high compared to other countries with similar standards of living, many years are spent living with illness due to lifestyle factors and environmental pollution. This results in a high burden of disease, weakened working ability, reduced income, increased medical care costs, and treatment expenses. In fact, rapid urbanization has led to green living spaces shrinking, leaving children without outdoor play areas, adults without relaxation zones, and the elderly confined indoors.

Modern lifestyle choices such as consuming fast food, being inactive, facing high work pressure, and lacking communication and emotional connection contribute significantly to neglecting one’s health. However, spending time in green spaces like parks or gardens can help combat these negative impacts.
