Uchronia’s Wild Imagination: How Julien Sebban is Reshaping Design’s Past and Future

Exploring the Colorful and Whimsical Universe of Uchronia

Five years ago, Julien Sebban’s architecture and design firm, Uchronia, began to make waves in the world of interior design with its unique style that combines history and fantasy. Sebban is known for his wild shapes and bold colors, which are showcased in his playful Peanut tables.

When walking into one of Uchronia’s imaginative spaces, it’s clear that Sebban’s whimsicality is at its best. He isn’t afraid to take risks or push boundaries, often using kitsch or outdated elements to add a touch of eccentricity to each space. From residential projects to collaborations with renowned brands like Prelle, Sebban’s signature style shines through in every project he takes on.

One of Sebban’s standout projects was featured on the cover of ELLE DECOR in May 2023. In this classic Haussmannian apartment, he transformed everything upside down with dreamy color-blocking and intricate details, proving his ability to reimagine tradition for the modern era.

Uchronia’s ambitions don’t stop at residential ventures and product design – they also extend to retail and hospitality projects. Some of their notable works include Créatures, an eatery above the Galeries Lafayette Paris flagship; Sonia Rykiel boutiques; and the Forest restaurant at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris. Through his fearless approach, Sebban is reshaping design’s past while shaping its future.
