UAlbany Men’s Lacrosse Team Faces Sacred Heart in NCAA Tournament

The UAlbany men’s lacrosse team is set to face Sacred Heart in a first-ever meeting between the two teams. As a result of winning the America East championship and securing an NCAA tournament spot, the Great Danes will host one more game at home this season. Graduate long-stick midfielder Jake Piseno expressed the team’s desire for more than just the conference title, stating their goal to advance further in the tournament.

The matchup against Sacred Heart will be a new challenge for UAlbany, as they have never faced this opponent before. However, head coach Scott Marr is aware of Sacred Heart’s success in the MAAC and understands the need for focus and preparation. After a practice session where Marr addressed the team’s performance, he stressed the importance of staying focused and respecting their opponent.

UAlbany is excited about its 11th appearance in the NCAA tournament and aims to make every moment count. The team’s focus is on taking each game one step at a time and striving for success. With Notre Dame waiting in the next round for the winner of this matchup, both teams are gearing up for a tough battle ahead at Casey Stadium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Each player is determined to come out on top in their quest for a successful tournament run.
