In September and October, the United States Men’s National Soccer Team will face Canada, New Zealand, and Panama in friendly matches. The team will first take on Canada on Sept. 7 in Kansas City, Kansas, followed by a match against New Zealand three days later in Cincinnati. The final friendly against Panama will take place on Oct. 12 in Austin, Texas.
These matches are scheduled on FIFA international dates, which means that Europe-based players will be eligible for selection. The U.S. Soccer Federation also mentioned the possibility of adding another match for the October window.
Scheduling opponents for these friendly matches proved to be challenging due to conflicting World Cup qualifying matches in South America and Asia, as well as Nations League matches in Europe. Despite these obstacles, the U.S. Men’s National Team is looking forward to testing themselves against strong competition in the upcoming months.
