Tyson Flares up During Flight, But Quick Thinking and Medical Care Keep Him Fighting

Mike Tyson’s recovery underway following ulcer flare-up on flight

In recent news, former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson experienced a flare-up of an ulcer while on a cross-country flight just weeks before his highly anticipated bout against Jake Paul. Tyson, who was on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles, began to feel ill 30 minutes before landing. A representative for Tyson stated that he became nauseous and dizzy due to the flare-up but is now feeling “great” and grateful for the medical staff who assisted him.

The upcoming fight between Tyson and Paul will mark the boxer’s return to the ring after nearly two decades. The match will take place at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday July 20 and will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Tyson, one of the most legendary boxers in history with a 50-6 winning record, has been preparing rigorously for this comeback fight. Despite the setback from the ulcer flare-up, his recovery has not affected his preparation, and fans are eagerly anticipating his return to the ring.

During the flight, when Tyson revealed he was in intense pain, flight attendants reached out to passengers to see if a doctor was on board. Paramedics boarded the plane upon landing to assist Tyson. While it is unclear what caused the ulcer flare-up, it is clear that Tyson’s quick thinking and access to medical care allowed him to recover in time for the big fight.
