Tyrone Midfielder Conn Kilpatrick Granted Clearance to Play in All-Ireland Preliminary Quarter-Final

Kilpatrick given green light to play against Roscommon in SFC match

Tyrone midfielder Conn Kilpatrick has been cleared to play in Saturday’s All-Ireland Preliminary quarter-final against Roscommon at Healy Park. The proposed two-game ban that Kilpatrick was facing has been set aside, allowing him to be available for selection.

Kilpatrick received a straight red card during a recent match against Cork, but the GAA’s Central Appeals Committee (CAC) made the decision to overturn the ban after a meeting on Friday night. If the ban had been upheld, Kilpatrick would have missed not only this weekend’s game but also a potential quarter-final next week if Tyrone were to advance.

The midfielder’s suspension was increased to two games because it was his second straight red card of the year, with the first coming in a match against Roscommon earlier in the season. The Central Hearings Committee initially upheld the ban, but the CAC ultimately ruled in favor of Kilpatrick being available for selection against Roscommon.

Now that Kilpatrick is free to play, Tyrone will benefit from having him on the field for such a crucial match in their All-Ireland campaign. His presence in the midfield will surely boost the team’s chances of success against Roscommon.
