Tyron Billy-Johnson’s Potential Return to the Cowboys: A Look at His Impressive Career and Dual Threat Abilities

Tyron Billy-Johnson Considering Signing with Cowboys Following Visit

Tyron Billy-Johnson, a free agent wide receiver, is currently visiting the Dallas Cowboys and may potentially sign with the team following a physical examination, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. Despite spending most of last season on the Cowboys’ practice squad, Billy-Johnson did not see any playing time in a regular-season game last season.

Throughout his career, which began in 2019, Billy-Johnson has had stints with multiple teams including the Texans, Bills, Panthers, Chargers, Jaguars, Raiders, Bengals, 49ers, and Cowboys. Making 26 appearances with one start, which occurred in 2022 with the Houston Texans, Billy-Johnson has accumulated a total of 23 receptions for 422 yards and three touchdowns. This equates to an impressive average of 18.3 yards per catch.

In addition to his receiving abilities, Billy-Johnson has also showcased his skills as a punt returner by returning 14 punts for an average of 19.1 yards per return. This dual threat capability makes him an intriguing prospect for the Cowboys as they consider potentially adding him to their roster.

As he awaits news of his signing with the Cowboys or another team following his visit at Valley Ranch today (Monday), Billy-Johnson will reflect on what he learned during his time spent on the practice squad last season.

The Cowboys are expected to have more decisions to make about their roster after hosting free agents like wide receiver Tyron Billy-Johnson and defensive end Chris Wormley at Valley Ranch today.
