Summit on the Impact of a Clean Economy on Communities

The Clean Economy and Community Impact Summit in Tucson, Arizona was a half-day event that focused on the state’s clean energy economy. Held on Friday, April 5 at the University of Arizona Tech Park on the Southeast side, attendees had the opportunity to hear from leaders in environmental and economic industries who shared their ideas and current projects. Speakers included U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and City of Tucson Mayor Regina Romero.

Throughout the summit, discussions centered around the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Mayor Romero emphasized how these laws are helping communities like Tucson reduce energy costs, promote environmental justice, and work towards a cleaner future for everyone. Senator Kelly, as the keynote speaker, highlighted the changes he has witnessed on the planet from his space shuttle missions, stressing the importance of addressing carbon emissions to combat climate change.

Following the summit, Senator Kelly visited Dimensional Energy, a company that converts carbon dioxide into sustainable aviation fuel and products.
