The First Week of April in Erie County: A Look at Spring Sports

In the PIAA track and field meet held at Shippensburg on Friday, Erie High pole vaulter Bradon Schneider competed with the hopes of becoming the first gold medalist for the Royals. Schneider aimed to make a mark in Erie High history as he showcased his skills and determination.

On the boys side of the Region 5 competition, Fort LeBoeuf emerged victorious with a score of 86, while Mercyhurst Prep finished with a score of 61. The competition was fierce, with athletes from both schools displaying their skills and determination in various events such as the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, hurdles, relays, jumps, throws and more.

In non-region boys tennis matches, McDowell and Fairview faced off against Grove City in close matchups. The singles and doubles matches were intense as players displayed their tennis skills and strategies on the court. Both teams fought hard for the win resulting in exciting matches for the fans to enjoy.
