Triple Threat: Canada’s Elite Hockey Stars Announced for 2024 World Championship

Three Blues players selected to represent Team Canada at World Championship

Hockey Canada has announced that three players will be representing Team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 10-26 in Prague and Ostrava, Czechia.

Jordan Binnington, hailing from Richmond Hill, Ontario, will be making his second appearance for Team Canada. Last season, in his seventh year with the Blues, he had 28 wins and a save percentage of .913 in 55 starts. Binnington was drafted by the Blues in 2011 and currently ranks third on the franchise’s all-time wins list.

Colton Parayko, a St. Albert, Alberta native, will be participating in his third World Championship for Team Canada. In his ninth season with the Blues, he tallied 10 goals and 26 points in 82 regular-season games. Parayko was drafted by the Blues in 2012 and has recorded 259 points in 659 career regular-season games.

Joel Hofer, from Winnipeg, Manitoba, will also make his third appearance for Team Canada. In his rookie NHL season, he had a 15-12-1 record and ranked among the top rookie goalies in both save percentage (.914) and goals-against average (2.65). Hofer was drafted by the Blues in 2018 and has won two gold medals with Canada in the past.
