Kettering Health Launches New Center for Clinical Innovation

Ridgeleigh Terrace, once the corporate headquarters of Kettering Health, has been transformed into the Center for Clinical Innovation. The space is now dedicated to physicians across the system, providing them with a platform to connect, collaborate and innovate for the benefit of patients and communities. The focus is on clinical quality, safety and efficiency.

Ridgeleigh Terrace holds significant history as it was once the home of Charles F. Kettering, an inventor, engineer and businessman who founded Kettering Health. Built in 1914, it was the first house in the US to have electric air conditioning using freon, an invention of Charles F. Kettering. This makes Ridgeleigh Terrace a fitting location for the innovations initiated by physicians at Kettering Health.

During an open house, Acute Care President Daniel Wolcott discussed the legacy of innovation at Kettering Health and the purposeful care provided to the community. Drs Michale Lakes and Harvey Hahn both emphasized their hopes for the innovative work that clinicians will undertake in this space. Dr Lakes envisioned Ridgeleigh Terrace as a hub for creativity and change while Dr Hahn saw initiatives that could fundamentally improve how Kettering Health operates and delivers medicine.

Several projects were highlighted at the open house including high-tech and AI initiatives, clinical informatics, digital health, lifestyle medicine and physician well-being. The goal is to drive innovation and progress within healthcare system by collaborating and sharing ideas in
