Transformative Leadership Development: Unlocking Opportunities through Albers Undergraduate Leadership Program

Life as a Student at Albers Schools of Business & Economics

The Albers Undergraduate Leadership Program offers an exceptional opportunity for first and second-year students to delve into leadership theory, analyze cases, and brainstorm solutions. This program comprises two courses: BUAD 2820, Leadership Development I, which takes place in the winter quarter and BUAD 2830, Leadership Development II, held in the spring quarter.

In Leadership Development I, students will attend seven in-person meetings to explore leadership theories and cases while also identifying opportunities for personal leadership growth. In Leadership Development II, students will create a proposal for real change during four in-person meetings, followed by a final meeting to present the proposal to University stakeholders and decision-makers. Both courses must be completed for credit to be earned, and admission is competitive with enrollment by invitation only.

Upon completion of the program, students will gain access to a network of Albers students in leadership positions on campus, in business communities, athletics and beyond. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the Albers Mentorship Program in their junior year instead of waiting until their senior year. Additionally, students will receive special recognition at graduation for their contributions to student life through leadership.
